      This is a cute and well-priced Barbie mermaid doll, perfect for little ones who love mermaids and bright, fun colors. I got the one with vibrant pink hair, and it’s well-made with nice little streaks of different pink shades that add a unique touch. The articulation is what you’d expect from a Barbie, and the tail piece is soft with a bright orange design. The very end of the tail comes separately in the package, so you do have to pop the fin in, but it’s no problem at all. I imagine the fins might even be swappable with other mermaid dolls in the series, making it a bit more customizable, especially with the different princess-style headbands that come with each model as well. All in all, a great figure that any Barbie or mermaid fan would enjoy!

      First off, This Barbie is absolutely stunning! Her hair is a soft, silky Saran mix, and her face is resin printed; that means this doll should hold up to some pretty heavy play, which is perfect for a mermaid doll! The doll does have printed details on her top which are printed only on one side (the front), but overall is still decent quality.
      She has movement at the head, shoulders and hip, which is standard for mermaid dolls at this price point, but I’d really love to see Mattel put in a “knee” and elbow joint for more versatility!
      If you are like me and bought this doll primarily for the gorgeous face up, she is a perfect match for the Made to Move tennis player from 2023/2024.
      Overall, if you have a mermaid fan in your life who loves dolls, this is a brilliant choice for a fun gift!

      At the regular retail price, this mermaid is quite a catch! She has uniquely colored hair of good quality (note that on the one I received, it was not evenly cut; I trimmed it a bit), and though I know everyone is sick of this head mold, I think this is a nice use of it. As a collector, I find that her screening is very pixelated, and that the yellowish treatment on the fin portion of her tail is very sticky (edit: this issue has been fixed). It’s only sticky on the front where the yellow paint is. I switched her head to a playline Made to Move body, and it’s worth noting that the head from her new body was not the best match for her original body. When I took a closer look, the doll’s head is lighter than her body. Not unforgivably so, but worth noting. Overall excellent for the price point. I love the design of the permanent top on this body. Good purchase.

      Edit: I purchased two more December 2024 and the fin paint is no longer sticky. I updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

      A lot of collectors have been saying positive things about this doll. I ordered her with the hopes of a rebody. Her hair is gorgeous although I’m not a fan of fantasy hair but I looked past that. He face is amazing and I would like Mattel to use this facemold more often especially for the collector lines. The body of this doll is okay if you have a child since that is what this doll is made for. The value which I paid was good. It’s a fun doll to have if you have a child like that likes bath time to be fun. All in all the over look of the doll is good. I hope Mattel releases dolls that are pretty like this one that can rebody on MTM: Made To Move
