In June 2014, Netflix announced that it was developing a series of episodes of Ever After High in web series format. Ever After High animated series was based on Shannon Hale's book "Legend's Diary", the plot of which is devoted to the adventures of dolls at the Happily Ever After school, as well as the book series "Ever After High: School Stories" by the famous children's writer Susan Serfors. The first web episodes of Ever After High became available for viewing on any platform on February 6, 2015. Ever After High is a school located in a fictional world where teenagers study - descendants of such fairy-tale characters as the Hatter, Snow White, Snow Queen, Cinderella, Goldilocks, Sleeping Beauty and others. They all have magical abilities. Ever After High dolls are similar in type to Monster High dolls. Among the main differences, more natural proportions, similar to human ones, can be distinguished. A significant difference can be considered the use of the same mold for most of the female characters, while the Monster High dolls have a unique facial structure.
