Today we have a long-awaited representative of the series "Barbie: The Movie" from Mattel 2023 for review. Keno, a guy whose face is created in the likeness of one of the main characters of the film (actor Ryan Gosling), suffered many collectors who waited for this collectible doll for almost a year by pre-order, and in the end, 2 months ago, Mattel decided to launch it for free sale without restrictions. But it's not for us to judge marketing moves, our job is to enjoy the results of the activity.

The doll's packaging is traditional for the "Barbie: The Movie" series - a bright box with a transparent window in the pink-yellow-blue colors of "Barbie's kingdom", and with an image of her modern house on the back of the packaging.
The package includes a certificate of authenticity and a standard "male" doll stand.
The guy is great at standing without a stand, but for tricky poses you will still have to use one. Don't try to bend Ken's knees right away, because they are immobilized under his pants by a protective structure made of cardboard and tape.
The face of the portrait Ken has specific features of the prototype, such as the shape of the nose, thin lips, sharp chin and jaw. In general, the doll turned out to be quite similar to Ryan Gosling.
Regarding the evenness of the make-up - we got our hands on several dolls of different releases, and all Kens had noticeable asymmetry of the eyes. But why is it surprising if this is a portrait of Gosling?😊
For comparison, we have a photo of another Ken-Gosling, but from a more budget "beach" release. The difference between these two dolls, in our opinion, is only in the hairdressing touch.
Face sculpt, makeup, body type - everything is identical.
Mr. Keno looks thoughtful and dreamy, just like the main character from "Barbie: The Movie" ☺️
A black fabric headband with a lightning print is fixed on the boy's head with plastic pins and threads. The hair is heavily varnished in the hairstyle, and the fixative adds a yellow tint to the hair. In fact, it is a warm, but lighter shade of blonde. The stitching is very high-quality, with a side parting, and we also see a smooth and neat line of the forehead stitching. But you have to be prepared for the fact that after washing off the varnish, the hairstyle will have to be tamed a little with scissors, because there are many uncut individual hairs.
The guy is wearing a cult bright hoodie “I am Kenough”, black sweatpants with a zipper print and white high-top sneakers.
The hoodie is truly a masterpiece, soft as a cloud, made of fluffy material, similar to soft felt, or even plush. At the same time, the hoodie holds its shape well and does not stretch thanks to the dense lining.
The hoodie is decorated with high-quality embroidery “I am Kenough”, a pleasant sleeve length, a warm pocket-muff and real metal eyelets.
Another plus of the hoodie is the large, deep hood, which, thanks to the material, keeps its shape well. It should also be noted that the hoodie does not have any fasteners, it can be easily and without problems taken off and put on "humanly" over the head.
Keno's pants are a nice length, also made of soft material, simple and neat, with cuffs at the bottom. On the sides we see the same zipper pattern as on the headband. The pattern is not printed, it looks more like a thermal transfer. The pants also have no fasteners, only a sewn-in elastic band at the waist.
Our boy is wearing loose high white sneakers made of ordinary Mattel plastic.
Very interesting shoes, which, like a breath of fresh air in the piggy banks of doll shoe collectors, will add even more variety to the creation of doll images🤗
And under the hoodie, a very interesting accessory was unexpectedly found - a "silver" necklace with a horse's head on a horseshoe - a detail that is also inherent in the image of Gosling's main character🤩
The pendant is plastic on a silver thread, which is tied into a knot. To remove this cowboy decoration, you need to remove the head.
Keno's body is labeled by the supplier as an Articulated Original Body. This is an articulated body, with simultaneous joints in the elbows and knees, with movable bones, but with a static foot.
Also, the legs do not spread apart at the hips.
