Monster High
Monster High is an American fashion doll series created by Garrett Sander and illustrated by Kellee Riley. The official release took place in July 2010. The characters in this series are inspired by horror movies and classic monster stories, which sets Monster High apart from other fashion dolls. The Monster High line is said to compete with Barbie, even though both brands are owned by Mattel. Most of the characters in the series are related to the images of famous monsters, such as Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Werewolf, Mummy, Phantom of the Opera, Banshee, etc. The height of the dolls is 25.5 cm, the boy dolls are slightly taller - 27.94 cm. The bodies are made of ABS plastic and equipped with 11 joints, the heads are made of soft PVC. Most dolls have a unique skin tone and facial sculpt. Hands and forearms are hinged, they are removable for easy changing. In 2015, Mattel released 43 cm and 70 cm dolls that have more joints (points of articulation). An Amazon online exclusive was also released - Draculaura and Frankie, who has a hinge in her chest. In 2016, Mattel relaunched the brand. The dolls received a new drawing and are closer to human proportions in figures. Growth remained the same. At the same time, Mattel began to produce more and more static dolls without movable joints. New brands of dolls have wider eyes and a wider face. The hinges on the legs have changed a lot, they have become larger and more convenient. The number of accessories sold with the doll decreased, which made the dolls cheaper.
