Barbie Rewind Wave 3 - unforgettable teenage moments!

Night parties, movie nights and prom are those moments that will be remembered for a lifetime. Designer Javier Meeb created a new collection of Barbie Rewind Wave 3 dolls dedicated to these unforgettable moments of adolescence. He's traveled back in time and embodied the trendier rock fashions of the 1980s in new dolls that will help you remember the best times.
Three new poseable Barbie Rewind Wave 3 dolls are available now at Mattel Creations. The designer envisioned these dolls as hyper-fashionable versions of Barbie who can go to the movies, prom, or host a night out.
To create this collection, Javier used his own version of a time machine and looked at old catalogs, TV ads and Barbie posters from the 80s and 90s, as well as vintage play sets. Each of the new dolls has its own unique appearance and a set of accessories that complements the image.

One of the new dolls is called "Movie Night" and wears a patterned t-shirt, peplum shirt and polka dot biker shorts. Her look is completed with warmers, hot pink trainers, popcorn earrings and chunky oversized bracelets. The designer notes that the fashion of this doll is excessive and wild, but vividly reflects the spirit of night movie sessions.

Our second doll, called Pajama Party, wears an adorable pajama set with terry sleeves and super comfy socks with a bright print. She has an even bigger bow and thick stylish hair. Like all Barbie Rewind dolls, she comes with lots of accessories, but Slumber Party has something special - a TV with a reference to the first wave of rewind, where a VHS tape can fit inside the TV! Javier says.

And finally, the last doll, "Prom" with Barbie herself in the main role. She is featured in a pink sequined dress and has chiffon overlays on the bodice and skirt to add volume. The crown on her head and voluminous light curls create the impression of a queen. The set includes a bodice, decorative white tights and pink pumps. "I love her belt and her bouquet of roses," adds Javier. He thinks this outfit screams '80s prom. Collectors, Javier hopes, will find even more interesting design solutions in this doll.

Leidiana Chive, the packaging designer, also used 80s pop culture as inspiration for her graphic illustrations. "My artwork was inspired by some of my favorite '80s movies, like 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun,'" she explains. "I also wanted to evoke the accessories that were popular at the time and evoke nostalgia: the corded phone, tickets in print cinema and 3D glasses with anaglyphs".
