The k-pop genre has been conquering the global space for a long time. However, he made a real "capture of the world" in 2016, when the star of the Korean group BTS lit up on the world music Olympus. There is a myth that for this boy band had to go through a long and thorny road, although in reality their promotion was handled by a whole team of marketers. However, regardless of how the group's biography began to develop, one thing is clear - its music influenced the younger generation and helped to look at the culture of South Korea in a new way.
At the very beginning of its biography, the group was called BangTan Sonyeondan, which means "bulletproof boys" in South Korean. In South Korea, the band is also known as Bangtan Boys. In 2017, when the story of BTS began to develop in the English-speaking space, they began to decipher their name as Beyond the Scene.
Casting for the BangTan Sonyeondan group took place in 2010-2011. In the first two years, the lineup was updated several times and several members changed. The current lineup of BTS was formed only in 2012 and includes seven boys - the "pearls" of the South Korean k-pop genre, whose names are RM (Kim Namjoon), Jin (Kim Seokjin), Suga (Min Yoongi), J-Hope (Jung Hoseok ), Jimin (Park Jimin), Wi (Kim Taehyung) and Jungkook (Jung Jeongguk).

The BTS fandom (community of fans) is called ARMY and is considered one of the largest in the world, even Hollywood stars are known to be part of it. Therefore, it is not surprising that even Mattel got a lot of inspiration from the creativity of these fiery guys and decided to make a gift for fans of this band's music, who, moreover, are also doll collectors. Such a super gift was the creation of portrait dolls of all the boys from BTS in the 1/6 format.
And the first line of BTS dolls from Mattel, which was released in July 2019, is dedicated to one of their most popular sounds "IDOL", which is why it has the same name. Do you recognize the costumes? :)

The second, more expensive and detailed series of BTS portrait dolls was the "PRESTIGE" series, inspired by the concept photos of the S-version of the album "Love Yourself": Answer is here. This series was released in December 2019 and is considered more refined in its concept, it is classified as a collectible, the dolls' outfits have much more stylish details, but despite this - fans are just as bold to use this series to create various creative ideas, connected with BTS. It should be noted that all dolls of both series are 29 cm tall. and are hinged, which gives freedom in posing. And they also have unmolded "living" hair, from which you can make any hairstyles. The "PRESTIGE" series is also distinguished by the presence of gesturing palms in the dolls.

All members of the BTS group are young, active, interesting individuals, so we decided to highlight some facts of the biography of these wonderful guys to get to know them better and, at the same time, compare them with their puppet counterparts.

Kim Nam Joon (RM)

The first soloist of the band, who was born in the city of Ilsan, and then lived in the USA and New Zealand. He knows English, Korean and Japanese, which helps him in writing songs in the hip-hop genre. The soloist wrote 162 tracks for BTS. And the soloist of the group, Kim Nam-joon, is a convinced atheist. Says his nickname RM stands for "Rap Monster".

Kim Seokchin (Jin)

The oldest soloist of the group, who was born in the city of Anyan. He is the "face" of the team and a sub-vocalist. Jin owns a restaurant in Seoul. And Jin studied acting at Konkuk University.

Min Yoongi (Suga)

A leading rap singer, born in the city of Daegu. According to band members and fans, he is the most pale-faced member of BTS. At the age of 13, he started recording his first songs. After BTS became popular in the world, Suga debuted as a solo artist. He is responsible for music in the team. And Shuga really doesn't like horror movies.

Jung Hoseok (J-Hope)

Sub-vocalist of the band, born in the city of Gwangju. At the beginning of his creative biography, he was a member of the Neuron dance team. In 2018, J-Hope released the Hope World mixtape as a solo artist. And J-Hope is the only member of the group who does not have pierced ears.

Park Jimin (Jimin)

A vocalist who was born in Busan's Gimjeong District. In his history, studies at a dance academy were noted, where he studied the genres of locking and popping. In the BTS biography, he is listed as the author of the words and music for five songs. Jimin is the only member of the group who performs under his real name, and he also notes in his biography that he studied at the Busan High School of Arts.

Kim Taehyung (V)

The sub-vocalist was born in Daegu. He is a graduate of Korea School of Arts and Seoul Cyber University. He wrote ten songs as part of the team. Vi is also a big fan of jazz and classical music, knows how to play the saxophone.

Jung Kook (Jung Kook)

Jung Jungkook (Jeongguk) - his voice is recognized as the 8th wonder of the world. The youngest and most important soloist of the group was born in Busan. After graduating from high school, he took up badminton professionally. Throughout history, BTS has written six compositions. And he is sure that if it weren't for BTS, he would have become a tattoo artist.

In 2021, the leader of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, appointed BTS musicians as presidential envoys for future generations and culture. The official ceremony took place in the Blue House. The band members were given appropriate certificates confirming their appointment, diplomatic passports that allow them to visit a number of countries without a visa, and pens as a souvenir.
