Review of Barbie Looks 4 wave, Mattel 2024

The release of the next wave of Barbie Looks Dolls from Mattel is always a holiday for fans of fashionable doll style and super mobility! After all, traditionally, all dolls of the series are created on super flexible Made to Move bodies.
And this time, six new dolls from the fourth wave of Barbie Looks Doll show us a bright combination of 90s trends with touches of modern style. So, let's take a look at them all!πŸ€—

Common to all dolls of the 4th wave of the Barbie Looks Doll series:
* Bill Greening was the designer of the series;
* dolls belong to Black Label;
* all dolls have bright thematic packaging, certificate of authenticity and white stand included.

Barbie Looks Doll 20, Andra (MTM standart, HRM12)

And opening our today's parade of dolls is a charming carrot-haired girl with a penetrating look.
Based on the much-loved Andra mold, this doll has an exquisite, high-quality, non-pixelated metallic make-up that perfectly complements her expressive gray eyes. The girl is wearing a lavender knitted top, a shiny faux leather midi skirt and high heeled boots.

Andra's amazing hair is several shades of red, soft, unpolished, but needs washing, combing and straightening after packaging. The firmware is perfect.

The outfit is neatly created from quality materials - a thin knit top and a shiny textured material of the skirt.
Fasteners - velcro on the back.

Exquisite lavender-colored boots with a barely noticeable pearlescent cast are made of pleasant-to-the-touch, smooth, soft, but elastic rubber. The heels withstand the doll's weight well and do not bend. Thanks to the interesting molded details, the boots look very stylish.

Barbie Looks 20 Andra is created on the super-mobile Made to Move Original body (standard height and build).
HRM12 body markings.
In terms of skin tone, the body is something between Neko and a tennis player, the undertone is neutral (no pink).
β˜πŸ»πŸ€“We remind you that skin tones may vary from batch to batch, so the description is approximate for the options that are on hand. For one hundred percent selection of skin tone for specific dolls, we advise you to apply the bodies to the heads live😜

Barbie Looks Doll 21, Heide (MTM standart, HRM13)

The stunning dark-skinned beauty created on the Heide mold immediately attracts attention with her stylish combination of petal pink outfit, dark skin and stylish dreadlocks.
Heidi is dressed in a knit top with a teardrop neckline, a skirt made of faux patent leather with an interesting cut, and stylish cropped boots.

The girl has a rather dark skin tone, which will always require special lighting when taking pictures. The eye makeup in bronze shades, which advantageously emphasizes the honey eyes of the beauty, is high-quality and non-pixelated in itself, but the pink lipstick is applied in a very dense layer and, in our case, cracked in some places. The pink blush makes Heidi's face look fresh, but looks too bright in some lighting.

Heidi's dark hair is braided in tight braids-dreadlocks, with some lighting you can even see two shades☺️ The firmware is beautiful, the base of the head is painted in a dark color under the dreadlocks. But the commas themselves sometimes have strands sticking out.

Curls are drawn on the temples on both sides.

Heidi's outfit has a very attractive rose petal shade.
A stylish knitted top with a teardrop neckline fastens with Velcro on the back.
The shiny patent leather skirt features detailed stitching, a velcro fastening at the back and a bounce stopper.

Stylish, low-cut, short boots with heels, in the color of the outfit, made of smooth, pleasant-to-the-touch rubber. The heels securely hold the weight of the doll and do not bend. The pointed toe and detailed details make the shoe highly desirable for any dollmaker.

Barbie Looks 21 Heide is created on the super-mobile Made to Move Original body (standard height and build).

Comparison of the skin tone of the girl in the photo below. It was not possible to find an analogue from the existing MTM bodies.
But, if you suddenly want to change the Super Hero body to the MTM body of the famous Mrs. President from the "Barbie: The Movie" series, then Heidi will definitely be able to help you with thatπŸ˜‰

Barbie Looks Doll 22, Victoria (MTM petite, HRM14)

A charming, playful girl of short stature was created on the Victoria mold and is considered one of the most anticipated dolls of the series. The petite (for her height, of course!) girl looks very bright and casual in her sparkly pink sequined jumpsuit, which she teams with chunky silver heels, a bold short hairdo and soft smokey eyes.

The face of the doll (namely the painting of the eyes) has been the topic of the most lively discussions among fans of the series for several days. The fact is that it is not completely clear when the doll looks: whether it should look straight or to the side. We conducted a small investigation in various social networks and came to the conclusion that the lion's share of Victoria comes in the same version as our doll. But, there are still very few live photos around the world, so we will wait for the confirmation/refutation of the theory, which is exactly the slightly slanted sideways look. Age - a coincidence or a regularity.
In some angles, it is very noticeable that one eye is looking slightly into the nose.
Otherwise, Victoria's face is incredibly pleasant, the make-up is very refined, high-quality and original. It's not often you can meet a doll with such firework Smokey Eyes 😍

The doll's hair has several interesting shades, but is heavily varnished into a hairstyle.

If the hair is washed, it looks expensive, magnificent, has good quality and is properly stitched.

The pink sequin jumpsuit is made from a very thin, soft fabric with a bit of stretch. The fastener on the back is Velcro.

On Victoria's feet are massive, silver, mother-of-pearl, heeled sandals.

Barbie Looks 22 Victoria is built on the super-mobile body Made to Move Petite (short, standard build)

In terms of skin tone, Victoria matches well with Joyce MTM in a green top.

Barbie Looks Doll 23, Lina (MTM standart, HRM15)

Finally, we all waited for this incredible blonde, created on the chic mold Lina❀️
This girl fully justifies the long wait, because she looks stunning without exaggeration. Long blond hair, expressive blue eyes, light skin, nude make-up - this was the dream of many mold fans.
The beauty is wearing a blue one-shoulder dress with a metallic jacquard print and stylish blue high-heeled sandals.

Lina's hair is a warm shade of blonde, unvarnished, very soft, but needs washing and straightening in places where there are kinks from packaging. A good quality parting is located slightly to the right of the center of the head.

Stylish blue dress with metallic jacquard gathered on the shoulders, fastened with Velcro on the back.

On the feet - Lina's favorite sandals, known to us from previous waves, only this time in blue. The heels are reliable and hold the doll's weight well.

Barbie Looks 23 Lina is created on the super-mobile Made to Move Original body (standard height and build).
HRM15 body markings
In terms of skin tone, Lina is very close to Heidi from the "metallic" wave, but a little lighter. It is hardly noticeable in the photo, but in our case, the skin tone of Lina's legs is different from the skin tone of the right part of the body. The difference is insignificant, but a fact.
Therefore, we emphasize that such comparisons of skintones are approximate and it is necessary to compare live the skintone of the head and the skintone of the donor in the case of hybridization.

And a bonus photo from someone whose patience broke before the release of the blonde from MattelπŸ€πŸ˜…

Barbie Looks Doll 24, Simone (MTM Curvy, HRM16)

Another non-standard girl of the fourth wave of Barbie Looks was created on the Simone mold.
The sweet bun with a serious look from under stylish bangs is dressed in a pink shimmering dress with silicone straps and a flared silhouette. The doll's legs are decorated with shiny shoes with an open toe.

The Simone mold is adored by everyone, because there are few people who do not have a black panther from the previous Lux series.
This time, Simone is lighter, but the structure of her face looks no less amazing: beautiful cheekbones, gorgeous lips, a soft contour of the nose😍 Straight bangs add character to the face, a kind of tigress, not an ordinary girl)))
Simon has a nice nude make-up this time, but the quality of the painting itself is surprisingπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Simone's hair is an amazing blond color with several shades. The bangs, which are set in stone, need a little cosmetic correction - to remove the extra hairs sticking out.
The parting is dense, but, in our case, it needs to be relaid so that the head does not shine.
It was very funny how the hair was cut behind 😳. It occurred to me that the same people who did the make-up did the haircut🀭

Simone's dress with silicone straps is made of material that rustles, but this can be forgiven, because all the elements, be it seams, pleats, etc., are made very neatly.
The fastener on the back is Velcro. The skirt of the dress has a bounce stopper.

On the legs - stylish pink shoes with an open nose. The heels are a little difficult to support the weight of the doll, sometimes they struggle to fit.

Barbie Looks 24 Simone is built on a curvaceous Made to Move Curvy body (standard height, curvy body).
HRM16 body markings
If there is a need to put the girl on a diet - the standard MTM body from Milly the blonde with a ponytail will do well. Hypothetically, Heidi's body from the "metallic" wave may still be suitable.
Our Simone lost weight during the night of an intensive photo session, so now she looks like the photo below😊

Barbie Looks Doll 25, Basics Black Ken (MTM Buff Body, HRM17)

Finally, the Unique and Unique guy in this wave, created on the Basics Black Ken mold, impresses with his charisma at first glance😍
A chubby boy with a kittenish look, with playful curls and playful bicepsπŸ€— A bright lime sleeveless T-shirt, lavender jeans and stylish silver shoes are what they say "This is a solid Ken-Ergy"πŸ”₯ A trending photo of this handsome guy is already spreading on social networksπŸ˜…

The guy has a very dark skin tone, so he will always require special lighting when taking photos. Adding to the fun is the lime t-shirt, which lovingly reflects on the shiny dark faceπŸ€ͺ
The guy is modest, the painting is "manly" laconic, but in our case, it is difficult to talk about symmetry. However, we will think positively: "everything that doesn't look like something else is considered original"😁

When the lime t-shirt got boredπŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ž

The boy's hairstyle is dense curls and neat painting on the sides, no flock.

Lime t-shirt made of very soft knitwear, fastened with Velcro on the back.
The lavender pants have a high rise, mock pockets and also a velcro fastening.

Stylish silver boots with a mother-of-pearl cast, although made of soft rubber, are very difficult to take off and put on the MTM Buff Body leg (it is slightly larger than the standard one). As an option, you can cut the cut behind the shoes to the end.

❗️ Do not rush to forcefully bend the boy's legs at the knees immediately after unpacking, because the knees are protected by cardboard under the pants.

Barbie Looks 25, Basics Black Ken is built on a super-flexible chunky Made to Move Buff Body male body (standard height, strong build).
HRM17 body markings
If you haven't had John from the regular Lux wave come out of the puppet gym for a long time, then his star time has come - now he can get a mountain of muscles from his new skinton brotherπŸ’ͺ🏻☺️
