Review of Brooklyn 65-th Anniversary, Blue Sapphire by Mattel, 2024 💎

🥳In March of this year, our beloved Barbie doll celebrated its 65th anniversary, and the Mattel company did not hesitate to please the fans of the world-famous blonde with a new series of modern dolls, the image of which, in the opinion of designer Carlisle Nueira, reflects the appearance of Barbie in a modern way when she first appeared in front of our eyes of the world audience: then she was dressed in a black and white striped swimsuit, and the dolls of the new series received festive black and white dresses🖤🤍
Today we are reviewing one of the two dolls of the Barbie 65-th Anniversary series - cute and positive Brooklyn.
The packaging of the doll has a very stylish and bright look, the colors used fully correspond to the concept of the Barbie holiday. The box is shaped, on the back of which there is a small excursion into the history of the creation of the series.
The doll belongs to Black Label, the package includes a certificate and a model stand for the doll with a black base and mother-of-pearl stand.

The doll is incredibly positive and photogenic, because her face was created on the mold of 2023 - Brooklyn with a closed smile. And in general, the image of the doll impresses with its exquisite conciseness - nothing is superfluous, and what is selected is in perfect harmony with each other😍
So, in addition to the black and white dress, the designers added only stylish blue glasses and precious sapphire stud earrings, which is why the name of this doll contains the mention of Blue Sapphire 💎

Sapphire earrings come with plastic protection, which is easily removed, like the earrings themselves - there are no stoppers inside the head.
The glasses are fixed in the doll's hair with two strings on each side. These threads can be safely but carefully cut, they are not connected to the doll's hairstyle and their removal will not damage the hair flagella that hold the threads.
The glasses have a fairly thick and only semi-transparent "glass", that is, their real appearance is significantly different from the one presented on official promos. In addition, you will have to work a little on removing excess white paint, which is not applied neatly enough in some places.

The girl's hand has a "Genuine Barbie by Mattel" tag attached. It is very easy to remove and does not leave a sticky residue.

The girl's face has traditional African-American features: a wide flat nose and a cute rounded forehead☺️ The makeup is quite bright, but high-quality and non-pixelated. Special charm is added by delicate freckles on the girl's nose and cheeks, which in itself looks exotic in combination with tanned skin🤩
From some angles, the girl reminds our team a little of Zendaya😍

The doll's hair is made of soft threads twisted into tight flagella. The hairstyle is absolutely soft and pliable, the volume is pleasant to the touch and look, there is no hairspray at all. The high tail is secured with a silicone rubber band. Due to the imitation of dreadlocks, the braiding is not very dense, therefore, if you decide to loosen the hairstyle, you must remember the peculiarity of the braiding, and either braid it in the right places (especially near the bangs), or make new hairstyles taking into account the specifics.
The head under the hair in the center is painted brown, but the paint is missing from the edges.

The doll's dress is made of high quality and perfectly fits the figure. The top with silicone straps fastens with super-thin Velcro on the back.
The skirt of the dress has three layers: the outer one is curly, the middle one is made of light tulle and the inner one is satin white.

The doll's hands are decorated with light long gloves made of thin but strong material, and they do not slip from the handles thanks to a piece of sticky tape. The gloves are decorated with spicy black bows.
On the fragile fingers of the girl - a bright festive manicure in the tone of lipstick.

The doll's shoes are black pointed sandals with heels. But they are made of rather thick plastic, so it is almost impossible to properly put the shoes on the leg, and besides, the heels constantly bend under the weight of the doll.

Traditionally, the Blue Sapphire, 65th Anniversary holiday series dolls have a delicate and refined Model Muse type body with only a few basic joints.
On the girl's legs - a bright pedicure of the same tone as on the fingers.

Of course, I really want to make a girl with such a charming smile flexible and free in movements😍
In our opinion, the super flexible Made to Move bodies fit the Asha skintone very well.
And it became interesting to compare the new Brooklyn with Brooklyn, who has an open smile and the same skintone🤩 Both girls are charming❤️ And you can also notice that the festive Brooklyn has a smaller head size.

And now our girl has already "moved" to the body of yoga, sorted out her hair and took a bath🫧
Of interest: the dreadlocks, which were gathered in a high tail, had almost no kinks, and in general, all the hair straightened after ordinary warm water with shampoo. At the same time, the dreadlocks do not untwist and do not loosen. It is important to let the hair dry without using a hair dryer.

Dreadlocks can be easily placed on different sides, you just need to make sure that the unstitched parts of the head behind the first row of bangs do not "glow".

The girl, despite the exotic make-up, looks and feels great in ordinary clothes and on a mobile body. This is another one of the few dolls that makes you want to smile back☺️
